Hydrogen-Enriched Natural Gas Swirling Flame Characteristics: A Numerical Analysis

چکیده
Increasing the amount of hydrogen (H2) in natural gas mixtures contributes to turbine (GT) decarbonisation initiatives. Hence, swirling flame characteristics with H2 are investigated current work using a numerical assessment single swirl burner, which is extensively employed GT combustors. The baseline and experimental cases pertained compositions largely consisting methane (CH4). results show that model adequately describes component observed experiment. Altogether, findings hydroxyl (OH) radical levels increase H2-enriched CH4 flames, implying greater OH pools responsible for change structure caused by considerable addition. addition 10 % predicted raise peak temperature 4 compared flame. Therefore, adding into combustor without any flowrate tuning raises risk material deterioration increased thermal NOx emission. Due lower volumetric Lower Heating Value (LHV) H2, needs higher fuel flow rate than burning gas/CH4 at same output, 2 reduce if fed tuning, required load may not be obtained. When case, 5 provide almost identical temperature, can postulated produce roughly as pure because Wobbe Index comparable. it reveals incorporating gas-fired nearly no modification viable. More research, however, fully capture strain assessing transient-related phenomena such flashback blow off raising proportion utilising precision turbulence model.

Experimental and Numerical Studies of Paraguayan Chaco Natural Gas in a Counterflow Diffusion Flame
Combustion is a chemical phenomenon in which a multitude of elementary chemical reactions take place, resulting in the overall process of fuel oxidation. Natural gas fuel has been explored for a few decades and extracted for a few years in the region of Paraguayan Chaco, near Bolivia border. Currently, natural gas is not very important in Paraguay’s energy matrix, however it could be in the nea...
متن کاملInfluence of Thermal Radiation Models on Prediction of Reactive Swirling Methane/Air Flame in a Model Gas Turbine Combustor
A numerical simulation of reactive swirling methane/air non-premixed flame in a new three-dimensional model combustion chamber is carried out to assess the performance of two thermal radiation models, namely, the Discrete Transfer Radiation Model and the P-1 Model. A Finite Volume staggered grid approach is employed to solve the governing equations. The second-order upwind scheme is applied for...
متن کاملGeneration of biologically active substances in a natural gas flame.
Samples of gaseous and solid species taken from the central axis of a 1 megawatt heat-input natural gas flame were tested in vitro for mutagenic activity and teratogenic potential. Mutagenicity was determined by a Salmonella typhimurium forward mutation assay. Potential teratogenicity was indicated by the ability of samples to interfere with the attachment of mammalian cells to a lectin coated ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Hydrocarbons in a Hydrogen Atmosphere by Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization
The ionization response of hydrocarbons In a hydrogen-atmosphere flame was compared to that of a normal flame ionization detector used in gas chromatography. Absolute response in the hydrogen-atmosphere flame lonizatlon detector (HAFID) was found to be two orders of magnitude less than that of the normal FID. This reduced response is attributed both to oxidation of hydrocarbons in the precombus...
